DINOSAURS - A TOPICAL COLLECTION
Did you know that dinosaurs could be as big as a house or as small as a chicken? Did you know that they lived on Earth for over 160 million years and that the last dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago? Did you know that no one realized that they had ever existed until the 1820s, when fossil bones and teeth found in Southern England were first recognized as belongings to the remains of giant extinct reptiles, and more then forty per cent of those have been found in the last thirty years. Exciting new discoveries are now being made all around the world. An entirely new kind of meat-eating dinosaur, complete with the remains of its last meal, was dug out of a clay pit only thirty miles from London just a few years ago, and dinosaurs have recently been found in Antarctica, too.
